Unannounced Project Viewmodel Animator (Mid to Senior)



Bungie is looking to hire a 1st Person Viewmodel Animator for our unannounced project! Are you passionate about creating immersive player fantasies through your animation in a real-time environment? We need someone to balance the creative art of animation with the technical challenge of delivering on our promise of a world class gameplay experience.

As a 1st Person Animator, you will be involved in all aspects of production, from the initial concept of player motion to technical considerations of implementation, to collaboration with other art and design teams on the look and feel of our 1st and 3rd person combat. You will support the Animation Team's goals of efficient completion of tasks as well as participating in critique towards the overall creative process. Most importantly, you will empower the player through fun animation performances.

  • Create high quality 1st & 3rd person animations through keyframe and motion capture editing
  • Advocate the player experience, and work with design on the future of our combat
  • Work with the Art Director and Animation Lead to ensure quality and consistency across asset creation
  • Collaborate cross discipline in completing projects and tasks
  • Strive to optimize and enhance an effective animation pipeline while identifying workflow improvements
  • Promote a positive attitude and a desire to grow yourself and others


  • Solid understanding of 1st person gameplay mechanics, immersive camera motion and core game design principals
  • Experience animating 1st person and 3rd person content
  • Experience collaborating and communicating with multiple disciplines, peers and managers
  • Advanced understanding of the core principals of animation
  • Ability to problem solve creative solutions
  • Desire and skillset to create world class games
  • Thorough knowledge of Maya


  • Ability to provide leadership and direction to other animators
  • Passion for FPS games
Washington State Pay Range III
$118,000—$145,000 USD
Washington State Pay Range II
$86,000—$114,000 USD
