UI Artist(Junior/Mid)

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Gunfire Games is seeking a User Interface Artist for our upcoming titles.  The UI Artist will design, create and implement dynamic UI elements utilizing Unreal 4. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of design aesthetics as well as UI flow and usability. Required to be a self-starter, must be motivated and willing to work without much supervision. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with designers, programmers and audio staff to create a high-quality User Interface experience

  • Use Photoshop and Unreal to create and implement User Interface

  • Utilize particle systems, shaders and mesh effects

  • Creating a variety of UI elements including Icons, Mini-maps, HUD, and Menus

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2+ years professional UI Artist experience within the video game industry

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of layout design and usability principles

  • Ability to iterate and implement quickly without sacrificing quality

  • Knowledge of game production pipeline and 3d game engines

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Flash

  • Excellent grasp of typography and color theory

  • Actively seeks feedback to improve work while also providing guidance and feedback to peers

  • Ability to adapt and cope with change as the production of the project demand

Work-From-Home

Due to state and city regulations, we have currently adopted an optional work-from-home model. Although we cannot wait to have everyone back in our awesome, recently renovated studio, the safety of our team is priority #1. We will continue to adhere to regulations and assess the safety of a mandatory return to the studio when the time comes.
