Test Architect



Bungie is looking for a Test Architect to help us define the future of Software Testing in Games. The Test Architect collaborates with our Test leaders across Product, Management, and Craft to build the vision, strategy, and process necessary to meet Bungie’s game development goals in a sustainable way. If you get excited by the possibilities of changing Test tools and techniques to increase efficiency - and then helping your colleagues level up their abilities in these areas, this is the role for you.  We need someone skilled at wielding influence to steer tactics and who is always up to date on Test technologies and methodologies both in games and in the broader software testing community.   • Collaborate with the Head of Test to develop, align, and evangelize Bungie’s Test strategies
  • Partner with other Test leaders to prioritize technology investments and operationalize Test strategies
  • Work with each project Test Director to integrate studio-wide Test strategies with the bespoke needs of each of Bungie’s projects
  • Collaborate with non-Test discipline leadership to ensure Test values and best practices are represented in all small team processes
  • Lead Craft development for the Bungie Test organization, including implementing scalable programs and process
  • Partner with the Test Discipline Managers to develop training initiatives and mentorship programs that grow Test Craft capabilities across the company
  • Identify inefficiencies and ineffective process within Test workflows or approaches, build solutions, and drive change at an organizational level
  • Develop KPIs around Test effectiveness and Craft growth, then work to improve them
  • Keeps up to date with industry trends and invests time finding new ideas to apply with our context


  • Subject matter expert in Software Testing methodologies and technologies, with a focus on Games QA
  • Ability to wield influence to gain alignment across large groups of stakeholders
  • Capable of driving and sustaining change across medium to large organizations (hundreds of people)
  • Proficient at translating strategies into plans of action with clear success criteria
  • Growth mindset and curiosity
  • Excellent collaborator and partner who responds well to feedback
  • Deep understanding of how, when, and where to leverage Test automation
  • Familiarity with industry standard testing tools (TestRail, Jira, etc)
  • Aptitude to quickly become proficient with proprietary testing tools
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to clearly present high level strategies and implementation details
  • Expertise in mentorship and helping others grow within their craft
  • Uses a data-informed approach to build key performance indicators and measure progress

Most Bungie full-time employees will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment). Prospective full-time employees located outside of CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OR, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI will need to establish residency in one of the states we are compliant in within 45 days of a start date. Contractors will follow a digital first approach adhering to the location guidelines agreed upon by our third-party employer/vendor and Bungie. Bungie’s remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.
