Senior Program Manager 

San Mateo or San Francisco

The Sr. Program Manager reports into the Platform Planning & Management (PPM) department’s Product and Business Operations (PBO) team and is primarily focused on Launch and in-life project management, communications & operations around the release & updates of platform products and features. These programs are typically platform initiatives which vary in scope and subject matter, ranging from incremental feature planning through to new hardware and software releases.

The PBO team works with PPM’s Product Management & across the Business (xBiz) with a broad global set of teams involved in planning, development, and support of PlayStation array of products. As such, the ideal candidate has direct experience of platform planning and/or leading projects in a global digital media entertainment environment (gaming experience/interest strongly desired)


  • Work with the xBiz teams to develop proposals & documentation, including structuring scope of work, project plans & status reports
  • Lead and facilitate large program teams to surface schedules, key deliverables, team expectations & timing for assigned projects
  • Build, lead, communicate, and supervise program schedules, partner dependencies, and product achievements, to ensure launch and quality of product.
  • Empower cross-functional and cross-organizational team to work together in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Build and Champion positive relationships with internal partners and within product (internal and/or external) to see products through to maintenance & onto new stages of growth
  • Program alignment & tracking between Product Comms roadmap & xBiz partner inputs and outputs.
  • Evaluate and initiate opportunities for continuous process improvements
  • Mentor other Program Managers to organize workflow, processes and projects


  • 5+ years’ experience in a program management / planning role in an online, gaming or digital media-entertainment
  • Degree from a four-year college in fields relating to business management, product development, engineering, communication, media or product design or equivalent
  • Outstanding interpersonal & communication skills
  • Outstanding project management skills with a proven ability in leading pivotal initiatives such as the launch of a new business, service, or product.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful
  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills
  • Ability to create and deliver insightful, organized and engaging plans, presentations and reports
  • Ability to structure, lead and motivate a team
  • Solid understanding/experience with PM tools like Jira, MS Project, Trello & PM methodologies

Desired qualifications:

  • Ability to move projects forward with some ambiguity while mitigating risks and resolving conflicts within the program
  • Able to find creative solutions to complex problems and multi-task
  • Experience and/or interest in gaming & the video game industry is strongly desired. Experience in digital entertainment, consumer electronics, technology is a plus.
  • Experience leading multi-stream projects and relationships between internal partners
  • Strong negotiation skills w/ a daring approach
  • Strong sense of ownership of process and results
  • Creativity and ability to adapt to change and a desire to continually improve
  • Training and understanding of Agile software development process
