Gearbox Software is looking for a technically minded Leader in animation technology with a passion for pushing character animation fidelity to new levels. This role focuses on leading a team of experts to develop new animation features in engine, providing ongoing support for current tech, and working to create improved pipeline and planning practices with Animation to improve overall content efficiency. This person will be expected to keep up to date on industry trends in animation tech and evaluate options for future use by Gearbox. Responsibilities:

Gearbox Software is seeking a passionate Senior Game Designer to join our Character, Camera, and Control team. This individual will work closely with the UX Director and other game designers in implementation of the following: core character movement and combat mechanics, input mapping and control schemes, aiming systems, camera behaviors, player feedback (haptic and camera shake) and UI presentation polish.
 
Responsibilities:

<li> Design, implement, and tune base movement mechanics (walk, run, jump etc.) as well as advanced traversal mechanics (slide, mantle, etc.) ensuring that the moment to moment feel of navigating the world is effortless, responsive, and fun.</li>
<li> Design, implement, and tune the player’s innate combat mechanics, such as melee, so that they feel satisfying and easy to use.</li>
<li> Design and iterate on the values of our aiming and camera systems so that targeting enemies and objects in the world feels natural to the player.</li>
<li> Coordinate with Design Leads to ensure features being worked on properly fit within the context of the overall game goals and are being leveraged properly by content and combat teams.</li>
<li> Assist other teams in identifying and polishing presentation where possible through camera shake, rumble, screen effects, and more. This includes weapons, player abilities, interactive objects, level sequences, enemy abilities, and bosses.</li>
<li> Champion ways to facilitate the above presentations where possible. This includes collaborating with design, engineering, and production on tools and process improvements.</li>
<li> Determine default and alternate input mapping schemes for console, mobile, and PC devices so that actions are mapped in an intuitive way.</li>

Gearbox Software is looking for a passionate level designer to join us in crafting upcoming first person shooters. This role involves working with the Lead Level Designer and Creative Director to pitch, build, polish, and ship levels using Unreal Engine 4.  Level Designers are responsible for owning the vision of their levels, and working with a variety of other departments to see that vision come to fruition. It involves close collaborative work with artists, mission designers, writers, coders, and a variety of other disciplines to ensure the level ships on time at a high standard of quality, while also being fun and memorable to players. 
 
 Responsibilities:

As a character artist you will help define and realize the character centric aesthetic goals of the projects by your strong understanding of anatomy, style, as well as technical and personal skills. You must be comfortable working alongside concept artists, game designers, animators, and engineering in your quest to help realize awesome, original characters and creatures.
 
Responsibilities:

<li> Model and sculpt compelling 3D characters, as well as necessary accessories, per the projects aesthetic style and direction</li>
<li> UV map, texture and craft materials for 3D characters</li>
<li> Collaborate and provide feedback both internally and externally for other characters in development</li>
<li> Work closely with our game design department to ensure the character art supports the gameplay</li>

Qualifications:
